Registered nurses earn the highest salaries in the western region of the country, according to the Medscape Nurse Salary Report 2015.

Here is RN pay in accordance with geographic region in the United States:

  • West: $105,000
  • Northeast: $87,000
  • Northwest: $81,000
  • Southwest: $81,000
  • Mid-Atlantic: $77,000
  • South Central: $77,000
  • Great Lakes: $76,000
  • Southeast: $74,000
  • North Central: $69,000
