According to a study published in The American Journal of Medicine, the salary disparities cited decades ago still persist in academic medical centers.

The study found the mode salary for men was $200,000 to 225,000, while the mode salary for females was $175,000 to $200,000. The study also contends that trends indicate that this difference in salary has persisted since 2008.
